What is in this course?

Course Description: Strimmers and Brushcutters are great machines for keeping longer areas of grass or areas of dense vegetation such as brambles to a reasonable level. This course can be registered Strimmer (nylon cord) only or Brushcutter (metal blade) only or both components together. Like any piece of machinery, if used incorrectly has the risk of causing a serious injury to the operator and others. This course will cover the safety guidelines and correct techniques of using a strimmer and/or brushcutter. Covering: Risk Assessment, Legislation, PPE, Safety Checks, Pre-Start Checks, Site Safety, Operation of the Machine, Clean down and Aftercare Maintenance. Suitable for those working in Arboriculture, Forestry, Grounds, Facilities and Estate Maintenance. Important: Candidates must be aged 16 years old or over and ideally hold a current Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.
