I created Horticultural Landscape Solutions in October 2011 as I wanted to expand my reach to training a wide variety of professionals in the land based industry. Not only would this benefit them, but I saw it as a massive learning curve and experience for me.

 

I came into Horticulture straight from school in 1987 as a Youth Trainee and gradually worked my way through a variety of jobs gaining experience and knowledge along the way.

 

I am a very much a “hands on” learner myself, practical in my approach and am a great believer in that you never stop learning. I also assure candidates who I train now that training quite often is the beginning, experience comes with by doing it and getting better each time.

 

Now I help train professionals who not only work in Horticulture, but also Agriculture, Forestry, Ecology, Arboriculture, Gamekeeping, Equestrian, Greenkeeping and Estate Management.

 

I learn their industry so I can give them the best learning experience I can. I have watched people grow into roles over the years and I still get a buzz when I see them putting their training into practice, even years later.

 

The business is also evolving all the time to expand the opportunities I can provide my candidates. In 2025, I became a First Aid Instructor to enable me to expand further by working with the local community and individuals to provide a necessary life saving skill.
