What is in this course?

Level 3 Forestry First Aid (+F) course is a specialized 2-hour bolt-on module designed to meet the Forestry Commission First Aid policy. It requires participants to already hold a valid Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification. The syllabus addresses remote-location hazards and severe trauma, covering: Catastrophic bleeding control (chainsaw and gunshot injuries) Crush injuries (e.g., from timber or machinery) Effects of extreme cold and hypothermia/exposure Lyme disease and snake bites Suspension trauma and lightning/high-voltage injuries Emergency planning, casualty evacuation, and remote medical assistance Certificates are valid for 3 years, with an annual refresher recommended.
